To further ourselves and keep on par with the governments programme for sector modernisation, we are currently undergoing training and conferences on BIM (Building Information Modelling). This will give us the opportunity to tender and complete projects for a wider variety of clients in the future.
Traditional design methods have been limited to two-dimensional plans and drawings, BIM modernises this approach in leaps and bounds. It now allows us to design in three-dimension with the fourth and fifth dimension being time and cost respectfully. BIM will allow principal designers, principal contractors and sub contractors to all work from the same virtual information model, this can even be passed onto the owner of the property/project once the work is complete. It allows the industry to keep all structural information available and relevant to the project throughout the timescale of work programme with each item used within the project holding its on data on the system.
This innovative step forward will help us communicate and present projects during tender stages and to clients throughout the project.
