We have successfully undertaken works on Listed Bridges for Oxfordshire County Council.
We are fully aware of the necessity to undertake any works in a careful and sympathetic manner ensuring a finish in keeping with the character or appearance of the property/structure.
We fully appreciate the importance of retaining, or improving upon, the aesthetics of the property whilst providing the benefits of latest building materials & techniques.
We further recognise the necessity to work in strict adherence to the client’s specifications and within the guidelines of local conservation departments.
Where necessary we will sub-contract those areas of work where specifically skilled craftsmen are required, i.e. to provide stonework renovations etc.
Recent works have included:
Swinford Toll Bridge
Road reconstruction to privately owned, listed toll bridge over the River Thames.
Further phase awarded comprising of surfacing works and refurbishment of Toll Booth via Gifford and Partners.
Henley Bridge, Oxfordshire
The work involved stonework repairs to Henley Bridge, a Grade I listed structure five span arch bridge over the River Thames.
Stonework Repairs to Shillingford Bridge
The project required stonework repairs to this Grade II Listed structure over the River Thames. The works were concerned with the three river spans and involved the restoration of all three river arches, the balustrades above these spans and the south west wing wall.
Flash Lane Aqueduct Maintenance & Repairs
Works on this listed ancient monument comprised the repair and cleaning of the masonry on the bridge, cleaning and protective painting of the aqueduct, repair of the handrail and control of water penetration through the abutments.
